There is no typical victim of human trafficking. At Hestia we support men, women and transgender victims and support over 300 children as their dependencies. While no individual case is identical, we see that traffickers coerce, deceive and force thousands of individuals every year against their will into a life of abuse, servitude and inhumane treatment. Last year, Hestia supported over 600 victims of Modern Slavery to recover from the trauma of trafficking and to support them to build a new life for themselves. Working across our 5 safe houses and pan-London outreach team, our specialist advocates support victims of modern slavery to achieve the life they desire – the one that was so brutally taken from them by their traffickers. Our support includes accessing healthcare and counselling, helping them find secure housing and returning to education and employment.
