About us Where we work Domestic Abuse Intervention Service - Slough This service which provide person-centred support to women who are turned down from refuge accommodation due to complex needs. These complex needs may include physical and mental health, substance misuse issues, special educational needs, English as an additional language, older people or travellers. Our staff deliver intensive support for up to six months to prepare service users to move on to a refuge, by facilitating access to IDVA’s (Independent Domestic Violence Advisors) specialist support to meet their needs. This is followed by three months support whilst in the refuge, or in longer-term accommodation. Get support If you are in immediate danger, please call 999. The Freephone National Domestic Abuse Helpline, run by Refuge, is available on 0808 2000 247, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The helpline is answered by fully trained female support workers and volunteers who will answer your call in confidence.
