Hestia's Refuge Referral Line

The Domestic Abuse, Assessment & Referral Service will support women and children experiencing domestic abuse to find safe, secure and suitable refuge spaces across London.

We’re looking for members of the community to take a stand against domestic abuse by volunteering as part of the assessment and referral process, helping to support women and children to rebuild their lives free from fear.

All volunteers will be fully trained. We’re currently looking for female applicants only.

What will I be doing?

Your main task will be to take calls to assess the needs of women fleeing from domestic abuse, and in doing so, potentially saving their lives. This service relies solely on volunteers, so your support is absolutely vital.

What will my hours be?

We’re currently looking for volunteers that are able to offer a minimum of 4 hours either weekly or biweekly, Monday to Friday.

As a volunteer for Hestia you qualify for Hestia Rewards. It’s our way of saying thank you for the amazing work you do. Rewards include:

  • Reimbursed expenses for travel and £5 per day for lunch
  • An invite to our volunteering awards and celebration events
  • Access to a dedicated volunteer training programme, e-learning materials, and face to face learning & development programme.
  • References for future job applications
