Sadia Wain, Hestia’s Domestic Abuse Prevention Training Manager for our Everyone’s Business programme, has been an awarded the title of Community Champion by Hounslow Council.

The award recognises individuals who have carried out outstanding work in the Hounslow community.

Sadia has been an invaluable member of the Hestia team across both our domestic abuse and modern slavery services, being the first team member in our Modern Slavery Response service when it opened its doors in 2011.

Her dedication to supporting people to recover from crisis has without doubt changed the lives of dozens of people across London.

Sadia was nominated as a recipient of the award by Hounslow Ward Councillors, Councillor Pritam Grewal, Councillor Ajmer Grewal and Councillor Nisar Malik. Recognition of the achievement took place at a reception held by The Mayor Hounslow Councillor Samia Chaudhary at the Civic Centre on Wednesday 3 April.

Currently, our services in the Hounslow borough include Mental Health & Complex Needs support, Modern Slavery Response service and the Phoenix Project, our volunteer-led scheme for members of the community to together and support victims of modern slavery.

A big thank you to Sadia for being an inspiration to her team, the wider Hestia community and the people of Hounslow.
