Hestia celebrates Silver Sunday

On Friday 29th September Hestia’s Age Activity Centre (AAC) is opening its doors to the public to celebrate Silver Sunday!

A nationwide weekend of celebrations, Silver Sunday shares thousands of activities to tackle the blight of loneliness amongst older people. Activites can range from coffee mornings at your local library to ballroom dancing. Silver Sunday is a chance for older people across the UK to meet new friends.

This year Hestia invites you to join us at our Age Activity Centre in Tooting Broadway (click here for a map) for a day of activities and refreshments. The AAC is open from 10am so come along at any time and join in or just meet some of the members and staff.

About us:

The Hestia Age Activity Centre is a warm and welcoming space for Wandsworth residents over 60 looking for a place to socialise and learn new skills. From computer classes to Zumba, the AAC (as it’s known amongst its members) offers a schedule of activities which has been designed by its members, for its members to ensure they all have the opportunity to enjoy later life.

“I have been attending the AAC for over 4 years now…I know the people in the domino club very well now and look forward to it every week. Coming to the AAC gets me out of the house and give me somewhere to go – without it I doubt I would really leave the house.”
– Imogen, Service User

So, if you are looking for somewhere to get together with friends, to meet new people and learn new skills then get in touch!
