What is it like to work with us?

Starting a new role is an exciting time which is why we want to make sure you have all the information you need.

At Hestia, providing a positive candidate experience is very important to us. This means ensuring you know the outcome of your application, giving you the tools to prepare for your interview and telling you about everything that happens if you are successful.

Our adverts will not only tell you what makes the role so great, it also includes our detailed job pack where you can find out much more about Hestia, the project and a very detailed job description.

Applying for our opportunities is very straight forward. All we require is a CV and cover letter that demonstrates your ability and experience.

To help transition into your new role, please read the FAQs below. For any other queries, please contact [email protected]

Preparing your application

Your application is your way to show Hestia why you are the right person for the job. In order to apply, all you need is an up to date CV plus a cover letter which includes the below details.

  • Why you wish to work for Hestia
  • Transferable skills
  • Our vision is ‘Empowering people, changing lives’. How will you contribute to this if you are successful?
  • We are looking for candidates who live our values; supportive, dedicated, caring, principled and client focused. How will you ensure to incorporate our values in your everyday work?

The experience a person has on their CV would not necessarily be an indication of how a candidate will live our values. Your cover letter is your chance to tell Hestia all about this.

If you have any questions during the application process, contact our HR team on [email protected]. We aim to reply to any messages within 48 hours.

The Hestia Approach

The Hestia Approach represents our commitment to making the most effective interventions possible in the lives of those who use our services.

Our approach is based on a single principle: in order to add real value to people’s lives it is essential that we work with them as equals. Our expertise and experience of working with people on their recovery journeys is valuable, and we believe this gives us a great deal to contribute, but we never impose our ideas.

Equality and Diversity

Hestia is proud to be a Disability Confident employer and offers a lot of support to candidates who may require extra help with their disability. To ensure we can support you to the best of our ability, please ensure you complete our Equality and Diversity form as accurate as possible.

We will only highlight any potential disability to our hiring managers so they are aware they may need to offer reasonable adjustments, not only for the interview process but during your employment with Hestia as well. All other information from the Equal Opportunities form is strictly confidential and only available to our HR department.

Shortlisting

Our Managers usually shortlist within a week of the vacancy closing. Should you be successful in securing an interview, you will be contacted by the Manager either by phone or by email. You may receive their diary availability and the option to book yourself into the available slots. We do this so that we can be as flexible as possible and you can book a time which is the most convenient for you. Please do note that these slots are first come first service. We therefore highly recommend keeping an eye on your emails, especially your spam folder as it may end up in there.

Some of our vacancies may not contain a closing date. If no closing date is displayed, it means we are keeping the vacancy open until successfully filled. Interviews will therefore not take place on a pre-determined date and if you see an opportunity of interest to you, we highlight recommend applying sooner rather than later as you may miss out.

Interviews

If your application is successful, you will be invited to an interview. It's important to remember that interviews are a two-way conversation and you should feel relaxed. We encourage all candidates to arrive ten minutes before their allocated time to ensure a prompt start. If you know you will be late, please contact us as soon as possible on +44 (0) 207 7378 3100.

The offer process

If you are successful, you will receive a conditional offer from our HR team highlighting the good news along with the relevant paperwork for you to complete.

In order for you to be able to start in your new job, we require your DBS to be in place as well as your references. To speed up the process, we highlight recommend completing the DBS online (we will send you the details) and complete and return the reference document within 48 hours.

A member of the HR team will arrange to meet you in person at our head office to complete our pre-employment checks. Then a start date is agreed.

Welcome to Hestia!
