Helena joined Hestia in October 2016 as Regional Director for Operational Services. Helena previously worked for Westminster City Council in a variety of roles, most recently as Senior Service Transformation Manager in the Growth, Planning and Housing department. Here she worked on the council’s Public Service Reform agenda, which focused on creating efficiencies and improving the connections between different parts of the council and wider public sector, including the voluntary sector, health and central government. Prior to this, she managed Westminster’s Housing Needs Team, responsible for policy work, service development and commissioning a range of services for homeless and insecurely housed people including the Housing Options Service, the women’s refuges and services for single homeless people with complex needs. She was the lead for housing on the Violence Against Women and Girls agenda, was involved in Tri-B strategy work around VAWG, and attended Westminster MARAC for over 4 years from its launch. She also spent time as Supporting People Development Manager for Westminster.
Helena graduated from Warwick University with a degree in Sociology and in her spare time is a volunteer Run Leader and Trustee for A Mile In Her Shoes, a small charity that supports women affected by homelessness through running and well-being activities.
