In 1991 The White Ribbon Campaign (WRC) was conceived and became one of the largest men’s anti-violence programmes around the world. Started by Toronto politicians and activists, it has now spread across more than 57 countries - The main aim being for men and boys to speak out, ending all forms of violence against women.
At Hestia our male staff stand together on November 25th to pledge against committing, condoning, or remaining silent about men’s violence against women in all its forms. Join us and the world by wearing your #whiteribbon on #whiteribbonday
In 2010, independent singer and songwriter Surianne began volunteering at Hestia delivering music related workshops in our domestic violence refuges. It was here that she heard their stories and decided she wanted to do more to help - this is how "Stronger Than Before" was born.
