We have been working in partnership with law firm Winckworth Sherwood for the last 3 years.

Volunteers from Winckworth Sherwood have been providing our service users and community volunteers with an opportunity to attend mock interviews, helping to prepare individuals as they make steps back into employment.

This programme has been a fantastic success. In 2017 Winckworth Sherwood supported 10 service users and volunteers, with half of the attendees securing employment opportunities after their mock interviews.

“I found it very useful and I would recommend it for everyone. The interview experience supported me to secure a recent paid position in Hestia. I received good feedback and I really appreciated the additional advice and practice which helped me feel more confident on the day,” Sandra.

During the summer of 2015 and 2017 Winckworth Sherwood also held a pencil case drive in their offices, providing children across our domestic abuse services with stationery for the new school term. Teams of volunteers have also hosted bake off sessions in our refuges.

Winckworth Sherwood have also kindly supported Hestia’s external meetings by providing access to their meeting room spaces. We are also very excited to be hosting this year’s Volunteer Awards at Winckworth Sherwood’s offices on the bank of the River Thames.

“Winckworth Sherwood is very proud of the relationship we have established with Hestia. Not only are they a local charity which reinforces our ethos of working in partnership with the local community, but we feel strongly about the amazing work they are doing for those who have been affected by domestic abuse, modern slavery or other such problems. We are delighted to support them and to help make a difference." Charlotte Cook, Partner and Head of CSR at Winckworth Sherwood
