On winning the award, Hannah Gale, Family Fitness and Sports Project Manager said:

“We are absolutely delighted to win the Children and Young People award. For those who experience domestic abuse and need to move to a refuge, accessing physical activities isn’t always possible or a priority. With this unique programme, the Family Fitness Project team have been able to show families the benefits of keeping active, how it can be used as a recovery tool and to enable children to take part in new and exciting activities.”

Last year alone, Hestia supported over 2,225 adults recover from the trauma of domestic abuse.
