Sonia Kharaud We are running in the Rough Runner 10K for Hestia, a domestic violence charity because we want to raise money for a great cause.
Hestia are passionate about putting an end to domestic abuse and sexual violence and last year Hestia supported over 1,900 adults and children to recover from the trauma of domestic abuse. Not only this but they are one of the largest providers of domestic abuse refuges in London and the South East, which provide a safe place for any mother and child made homeless by domestic abuse.
Across the UK almost one million children are affected by domestic abuse every year, either directly through their own experience or indirectly by witnessing violence. In one of their refuges a child will receive dedicated support from a Children and Family Worker. Hestia use donations from the public and at charity events like this to help fund such initiatives such as the Summer Play Scheme which provides mums and children with a safe and supported space to reconnect and create new happy memories.
On the 5th October, 2019 the Interel UK team of Sonia Kharaud, Katherine Morgan, Holly Ramsey, William Blackman, Alex Mulchrone, , Tosin Adedayo and Anna Jobling will run the Hestia Rough Runner 10K in South London to help raise money for this fantastic charity who we work closely with to help bring the issue of domestic violence up the political agenda.
Please show your support and sponsor our efforts on behalf of this important cause. Sonia Kharaud
