Hestia to host free virtual workshops to celebrate World Mental Health Day

Hestia will host a day of free, virtual well-being workshops to celebrate World Mental Health Day on Friday 9th October.

The workshops, held via Zoom, will be hosted by Hestia’s Mental Health service in Brent, but are open for anyone to attend.

Workshops will include creative writing sessions, meditation and yoga, with the aim of promoting positive well-being and self-care in a time of immense uncertainty.

World Mental Health Day is celebrated annually on 10th October. This year’s global theme is ‘Mental Health For All’.

The awareness day falls on a Saturday this year, so Hestia’s day of well-being workshops will take place the day before, Friday, 9th October.

10.00: Instant Stress Management with Health Training Coordinator Nell Blane

11.00: Creative Writing for Wellbeing with Hestia volunteer and experienced writer Jo Robinson

12.00: Art for Wellbeing with Hestia volunteer and experienced artist Russell Coles

12.40: Meditation with Bukky Fehintola

13.00: Open forum. An opportunity to discuss mental health & wellbeing as a group.

13.30: Yoga with yoga and meditation teacher Anna. It is important that, if you are unsure if this practice is suitable for you, then you must consult your doctor first.
