Christmas spirits were high at Hestia throughout December!

On Wednesday 19 December, over 50 members at our Age Activity Centre (AAC) in Tooting enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner and fabulous entertainment.

The event was a masterpiece of co-production with staff from the AAC, Hestia's head office, corporate and individual volunteers, a local nursery and members themselves all chipping in to make the event a success, with AAC Team Leader Beverley Pitter coordinating it.

The entertainment was truly a highlight, with steel pan player Samuel DuBois getting the crowd going. The cherished AAC choir members also performed a number of songs, while some of the AAC members took to the stage to do readings.

Guests were served by a group of fantastic corporate volunteers from accountancy organisation Moore Stephens, organised by Clare Alagh, Hestia's Volunteering and Partnerships Manager, in addition to Hestia volunteers who regularly serve in numerous capacities at the Age Activity Centre.

At the end of the day each member received a Christmas present kindly provided by Balham Nursery School, which was organised by Hestia’s Community Engagement Coordinator Amy Haworth Johns.

Thank you to all who attended, offered a hand and made the festive period at the AAC so wonderful!
