Hestia’s Outreach Service assists women who experience domestic abuse and have not left that abusive situation to remain safely in their own homes, and possibly have the perpetrator removed.
The service aims to empower women sufficiently through information, support, advice, advocacy, risk assessment, safety planning and management to access the services they need, both in crisis and in the longer term and to live their lives free from abuse. Women who remain in their own homes with Outreach support free up valuable refuge spaces for other women who have no safe alternative but to move to a refuge. The Outreach Service benefits children as well as the women as they do not have to face the upheaval of temporary accommodation and change of school. The service helps to reduce the repetitive cycles of abuse promotes greater confidence and independence.
The domestic violence outreach service is in Royal Borough Kingston upon Thames.
Funny how life can be
The way that it turns out
Thinking you’ll have a happy ever after
Well “That’s what loves about”
Then you realise you’re not on your won anymore
All your friends have gone away and never coming back.
Your eyes are black from the night before
And it wasn’t just one smack.
You hug yourself and try to squeeze
Some love out of yourself
But love has upped and left you
Only crying out for help.
