Hestia provides a number of long-term supported housing services for people with HIV/AIDS, people with mental health support needs and physical disabilities. This housing is often adapted to meet the needs of service users, is considered permanent and is generally self-contained. Support staff are not usually based at the premises but visit regularly, in line with the agreed support plan. Hestia operates a keywork system of support as in short-term supported housing with a similar focus on: - accessing health care and social activities, budgeting and income maximisations, employment and training, Maintaining and improving life skills and tenancy issues. Should service users wish to move on to greater independence staff will help them.
Hestia manages this kind of accommodation in the London boroughs of: Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames, Richmond and Wandsworth.
Access to these services is by referral from a relevant borough housing/social services panel usually via a social worker or community mental health team.
