Join us at Southwark Playhouse for Sam Shephard’s award-winning theatre production A Lie of the Mind, with an exclusive post show talk featuring Hestia’s UK SAYS NO MORE team on Wednesday 17 May.
At the heart of the play is an abusive relationship between a young husband and wife and the consequences that are felt by the two families that are close to them. In the run up to opening night Hestia have been working closely with the director – advising them on the issues surrounding domestic abuse and it’s impact on families.
On Wednesday 17 May, we will be joining director James Hillier and members of the cast for a post-show discussion to explore their characters and what happens when domestic abuse occurs within families. Find out more information about the play HERE.
“It’s one of Sam Shepard’s best plays. At the end of the first week, I thought we had a real sense of how hard it might be to go into this world every night. But by the end of it, you realise how cathartic the play really is.”
– Gethin Anthony, star of Lie of the Mind and Game of Thrones
“Mr. Shepard’s richest and most penetrating play, a 20th-century masterwork of a family portrait.”
– The New York Times on A Lie of the Mind
A Lie of the Mind runs from 4-27 May at the Southwark Playhouse, London. Get your tickets now!
