Our achievements
In the past year Hestia achieved the following:
Established a staff award scheme for exceptional work
Merged with Strutton to become largest provider of HIV/AIDS supported housing in London and increasing number of service users by 100% with minimal disruption
To improve services and increase accessibility for HIV/AIDS service users moved from central London location into 4 local offices in north, south, east and west London
Took transfer of direct managed supported housing services for people with mental health needs in Richmond and Kingston from partner Registered Social Landlord Richmond upon Thames Housing Trust (RuTCHT).
Took transfer of some of partner Registered Social Landlord, Ealing Family Housing Association direct managed supported housing services in Ealing
Opened a new mental health supported housing scheme in Kingston in partnership with RuTCHT
Appointed additional temporary Participation Officer to assist with the additional work in involving service users
Moved Service User Participation team to attractive, fully wheelchair adapted offices at the Lighthouse in West London
Registered by Commission for Social Care Inspectorate as Domicilliary Care provider in Hammersmith and Fulham
Started a Governance Review
Raised funding towards a replacement play annexe at the Kingston refuge for 2006
Registered Social Landlord Shepherds Bush Housing Association (SBHA) funded refurbishment of a mental health supported housing scheme in Fulham
Hestia funded refurbishment and remodelling of Lakeside Road project a residential supported housing scheme owned by SBHA.
Notting Hill Housing Group refurbished a mental health scheme in Ealing
164service users moved on from supported housing to more independent accommodation
Senior Manager completed post graduate diploma in voluntary sector management with some support from Hestia professional development fund programme
3 staff completed NVQ level 3 and 1 member of staff completed NVQ level 4 and 3 staff completed dual NVQ level 4 combined with management award
Invested in a 3 year programme to develop information management systems and appointed a new post of Head of Information Systems
Selected as one of two lucky local charities to be supported by Kensington and Chelsea Ladies club for three years
Appointed 2 new development posts to prepare for future growth
Appointed a new post of Head of Human Resources
Held a successful event at the House of Lords to celebrate Hestia’s 35th birthday
